Floodplain 04:16
In the year's, the year's remains The culminating pains Withstood and lashed out Bored but so attached now I didn't feel like a runaway, when I ran away I didn't feel like a runaway, when I ran away It's what I can't chase It's what I can't put my finger on Already erased Postcards to linger on What dots the landscape checkers my mixtapes And ruins the speech I wrote the toast before I safely got to shore But I needed a getaway, so I got away But I needed a getaway, so I got away It's what I can't chase It's what I can't put my finger on Already erased Postcards to linger on You know, I said I wouldn't stay buried in the floodplain You know, I said I wouldn't stay buried in the floodplain It's what I can't chase It's what I can't put my finger on Already erased Postcards to linger on

The further you are Places I can’t go And with every day I never know how handsome the deal was Til you lectured me blue Celebrated the unusual intrusion apart Maybe it’s the surest sign when the glory’s glowin’ Words don’t stop to wonder why Just maybe, it’s my medicine The criminal part, the ever-summer charm Go and blame it on the fabric of the mosaic stars, quiet and cool Celebrated the unusual attraction apart Maybe it’s the surest sign when the glory’s glowin’ Words don’t stop to wonder why Just maybe, it’s my medicine

Aren’t you sick of the fight? What would you trade for a piece of the pie? It could taste like sweetwater honeywine, ah-ah, ah-ah But that corner of your pride, it won’t give up I should be so horrified To learn how little things have changed in all this time What have I got to show for all these years of mine? For the days I’ve sailed the oceans, run the tide I haven’t missed the train Aren’t you sick of the fight? What would you trade for a piece of the pie? It could taste like sweetwater honeywine, ah-ah, ah-ah Sweetwater honeywine

I’ve followed as far as I can go The same tales that reach another shore They can’t see the beauty in our words So let’s let the readers of the world Tell us what they know Oh oh oh And this confusion will only grow Spare me another scene of disappointment It’s only afternoon The bad habits of a holiday And even when your locket’s full, there’s no escape Tell us what they know Oh oh oh And this confusion will only grow Spare me another scene of disappointment It’s only afternoon It’s afternoon

Hero Worship 02:26
One hero down Another’s gonna follow him before we know it Before we even know it No chance, even under circumstance But I think I raised your eye We’d agree, then, that it takes a certain type We’d agree, then, that it takes a certain type Trouble carried us here in the first place But it’s not up to me to save us sinking Ever after’s fine but we can’t roll our eyes at that And fill our glasses Fill our glasses at the same time we expect The treasure to reveal itself There is no guiding hand that I can see We’d agree, then, that it takes a certain type We’d agree, then, that it takes a certain type We’d agree, then, that it takes a certain type We’d agree, then, that it takes a certain type Precious time now fading out Final hour left us with doubt We’ll wait for the stars to drop from the clouds And dignify these helpless towns

The hymns rang up the mountainside And I could hear every word They shut em in for sleep And I'm not opposed to sheep Cos we've all got things to do And security is their proof I just can't understand the need to forcefeed I hope you lose it You thought you had it at the age of seven But the trick's letting go You missed the message, little christians!
7.
The wind is catching me On the back of my left knee Will I know when I get old? Just another story told And I fell to a higher land, a hell The green grass, nothing that won’t pass When I left the camera on Took a nervous glance then gone Many words I’ve left to say Allegiances have gone astray Then the red flashing light stares at us Hear the click and you might trace the tracks to nowhere Then the red flashing light stares at us The wind is catching me On the back of my left knee Will I know when I get old? Just another story told Then the red flashing light stares at us Hear the click and you might trace the tracks to nowhere Then the red flashing light stares at us

Pedestrian 02:49
That passing glance you gave out on the street Undid my hours Now that you received familiar heresy Ask your enemies for a favor I know you sang it softly In pieces, in full color I know you sang it softly Atlantic sights you took for granted You jumped across The streets were pretty in blue Now that you received familiar heresy Ask your enemies for a favor I know you sang it softly In pieces, in full color I know you sang it softly In pieces, in full color I know you sang it softly
9.
Words like hope and love and believe Fall in the small cracks in between Stray from your family, fresh little seed Can't help create a tragedy Moved on to better things Left behind, wondering I'll accent all the wrong ideas I'll accent all the wrong ideas And black out all the tiniest parts of the paradigm we lost Fractions in control from the start In defense of bleeding hearts Target our memories Long for the past desperately I'll accent all the wrong ideas I'll accent all the wrong ideas

about

Saint Solitude's newest collection, Twilight Reduction, is the latest submission to rock n' roll's longstanding "lost album" mythos. Recorded alongside 2013's A Crack in the Snow Mortar but hesitantly left unreleased, Dup Crosson's never-meant-be-lost album is finally coming to light some 8 years later.

"I remember proudly proclaiming to friends and the internet that I was going to release two albums in a year – and then my bank account dried up and my focus drifted to other ports," Crosson recalls. "What's funny is my favorite songwriter did the same thing that year, and then abandoned the second one. Getting this out at long last, I can now say I'm beating my heroes at their own game."

Six albums in, Saint Solitude is indeed proving to be a prolific engine. A theme of iconoclasm runs through these 9 tracks, be it in the shock and density of "Hero Worship" or the self-doubt in the emergent ballad "sweetwater honeywine."

A proper companion to the mosaic stargazing of ACITSM, Twilight showcases Crosson's ability to dig rabbitholes in all the corners of his record collection. Lead single "We Buy Balloons" captures adolescent electro-pop effortlessly, and shows that consistently, the only altar that this project kneels in front of is the one of melody. Sing along.
